Message from the President

 Dear Friend,

       Our space known as Market Hall Performing Arts Centre is vital to the Peterborough community.  It is important to the audiences that are entertained and inspired, as well as to the performers who are given the opportunity to communicate, share their creativity and develop their careers.   However, the beauty of Market Hall is that it not only provides a venue for the professional performer, but for community groups needing meeting, exhibition and celebration space.  Market Hall is an historic space used for contemporary needs.  Linking the present to the past, its size and location make it ideal for a multitude of events.  Our pricing aims to make Market Hall accessible to as many user groups as possible.  To meet our operating costs, we need to acquire funds beyond our rental income.  Thus, fundraising and volunteer commitments are crucial.  Not unlike so many other not-for-profit and charitable organizations, Market Hall Performing Arts Centre requires volunteer activity.  Since January 1998, the members of the Board of Directors have offered their time to bring the Hall up from near oblivion, through numerous crises, and to innovative initiatives to the brink of more possibilities today.  In addition to the Board members, others have offered their talent and time to the important tasks that must be accomplished.  It is these volunteers, like yourself, so often unheralded, that a massive THANK YOU is offered here.  Your efforts are valued, valuable, and appreciated.
