Hamet in a Hurry

presented by mysterious entity

Hamlet's struggle to come to terms with his father's mysterious death while his mother weds her new King finds new meaning in this fast paced, fully loaded, high-energy piece.

Hamlet in a Hurry was adapted from Shakespeare's original text by local artist and Trent University Professor Alan Orenstein and first presented to the public by Magic Circus Theatre in Peterborough in 1979. It was produced several times in the decade that followed and featured known talents such as 4th Line Theatre's founding Artistic Director Robert Winslow, and acclaimed local designer Martha Cockshutt.

The script is condensed for strictly six performers to play the key roles of Hamlet, (Andrew Little) Claudius, (Beau Dixon) Ophelia, (Amy Fort) Gertrude, (Kate Story) Polonius, (Rob Fortin) and Laertes, (Josh Fewings).

Hamlet in a Hurry is directed by Mysterious Entity's Artistic Director Em Glasspool, designed by Martha Cockshutt and stage-managed by Cheri Verge. Poster Design by Nade Nixon.
