Take a peek at the delicious menu! (pdf)

The theatre will become reminiscent of the Farmers Market that opened in the Hall in 1889. Chef's stations will be themed as market stalls, offering the evening's gourmet fare.

Enjoy complimentary wine on arrival, marché-style dining with chefs preparing delicious treats in front of your eyes, enjoy the sounds of roving buskers, peruse the silent auction items, and win the chance to be the last one to turn the lights out! A champagne toast and a countdown to the 'official' lights out followed by a special DJ to help you dance, dance, dance out the evening.

Astrid Young, accredited sommelier, will select wine pairings and be on hand to share her passion and her knowledge of wine with you.

Astrid Young's extensive experience as a Sommelier and wine writer is recognized in both Canada and the Napa and Sonoma Valleys, where her close relationships with wine makers, winery owners and growers has made her a valuable advisor to restaurant clients and wine enthusiasts alike.

"Now based in Ontario, Astrid has notably documented the rise of Prince Edward County wineries while enjoying personal relationships with many winemakers and producers throughout Canada. A highly accredited public speaker and wine educator, her winning style and unconventional approach to wine tasting promises to entertain, enlighten and enliven your adventures in wine, from the vineyard, to the barrel room, to your table.

Entertainment Announced!

Market Hall is pleased to announce a varied lineup featuring some of Peterborough's most accomplished musicians and entertainers for its fundraising Lights Out party on Sunday February 14th at 6pm.

With the Hall set up to resemble an old time farmers market, the musicians will perform throughout the building as buskers, rather than playing on a stage. The musical styles are as varied as the performers: Catfish Willie and Washboard Hank play old time music and western swing; Kelly Pineault plays accordion with John Mather on guitar and baritone ukelele; Alchemy Duo: Tori Owen (oboe) and Anne Olscher (bassoon, are a classical music duo; Curtis Driedger and Karen Taylor play folk and roots music on guitar and fiddle. To top it off are Carter Mahoney, the14-year old juggler who won the recent Peterborough's Top Talent contest, and Spatch, whose Spatch-tastic fire performances have been the hit of Peterborough's annual Artsweek festival.

The Lights Out event will wind down (or up!) with dancing to celebrity guest vinyl deejay Billy the K, whose specialty is 45rpm records.
